Darien Police Detective Promoted To Sergeant

A formal promotional ceremony will be held at a later date, according to the Darien Police Department.

DARIEN, CT — Darien Police Chief Jeremiah P. Marron Jr. announced the promotion of Gregory Benedetto from detective to sergeant.

Benedetto has been with the Darien Police Department for 20 years.

"This promotion reflects the hard work and dedication that Sgt. Benedetto has put in and prioritized. I would like to commend him for a job well done and wish him the best of luck in a new role within our agency," Marron said in a news release. "This achievement is not only notable but it also demonstrates the Police Commission’s and the department's confidence in his ability to hold a supervisory position and carry it out at a high level."

Marron congratulated all of the candidates in the promotional process, saying they "clearly put in a lot of hard work and are sure to continue to have promising careers within our agency."
