Darien Police Investigate Fatal Construction Accident
The man apparently fell from a scaffold while working at a construction site Monday afternoon, police said.

DARIEN, CT- Police are investigating a construction accident that ended with a man being killed.
Police got a 911 call Monday at 12:51 p.m. regarding a contractor being injured after an apparent fall on Nearwater Lane.

The contractor was working on a single family residence and apparently fell from a scaffold directly above the location where he was found, said Sgt. Jeremiah Marron Jr., police spokesman.
Police and EMS found the victim unconscious with a visible head injury. He was transported to Stamford Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

No one reported witnessing the fall that led to the injury.
The identity of the victim is being withheld from the public until his family is notified.
