Darien Police Investigating 'Suspicious Motor Vehicle Incident'
Police said they are investigating after a teenaged girl was approached by a stranger as she entered her vehicle in Darien.

DARIEN, CT — Police are investigating after a teenaged girl was approached by a stranger as she entered her vehicle in Darien late Friday night.
In a news release, Police Det. Mark Cappelli said the teen's vehicle was parked on the street in front of her home in the area of Glenvale Avenue and Christie Hill Road.
According to Cappelli, the unidentified person approached the teen's vehicle at approximately 11:45 a.m., however the teen quickly drove off without further incident.

The entire incident took place within approximately 30 seconds, Cappelli said. No injuries or property damage were reported, and the unknown person did not have any physical contact with the teen, Cappelli said.
The vehicle connected to the unknown person, which was also parked on the street at the time of the incident, was described as a white 4-door Jeep Wrangler with a black top.

"At this time, we have no reason to believe that the subject had a weapon, nor is there any evidence that the female was targeted," Cappelli said in a news release. "This is an active and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Darien Police Department Detective Division involving neighborhood canvassing and review of surveillance video from the area."
