Darien Police Seek Help Identifying Burglar

Know this man? Darien Police want to question him after he burglarized Frate's Liquor.

DARIEN, CT — Police are asking for the public's help to identify a man who burglarized Frate's Wine and Liquors on Feb. 21.

It is the third burglary at the store since December 2016. The pictured suspect is believed to be the same man in all three incidents, police said. He has gained access by smashing windows.

On two occasions, the suspect is seen operating a dark colored sedan. Surveillance video from the third incident shows a black or dark colored, 4 door midsize sedan, with what appears to be dark alloy rims. It does not appear that the windows are tinted on the vehicle.

On February 21, 2017 at 3:43AM, Frate’s Wines & Liquors located at 1937 Post Rd was burglarized. This was the third burglary that has occurred at this location since December of 2016. The suspect in all three incidents is believed to be the same individual, and has forcibly entered the establishment by smashing out the front window with a rock. As seen in the video, the suspect removes cash drawers from the register and quickly exits the establishment. The suspect is described as a white male, heavy build, large nose, rough facial features, in his late 30’s to mid 40’s. On two occasions, the suspect is seen operating a dark colored sedan. Surveillance video from the third incident shows a black or dark colored, 4 door midsize sedan, with what appears to be dark alloy rims. It does not appear that the windows are tinted on the vehicle.
