Darien Police Seek Telecommunication Dispatchers, Starting Salary Listed at $70,740

DARIEN, CT — The Darien Police Department is seeking applicants for telecommunication dispatcher positions, offering a starting salary of $70,740, according to a recruitment posting.

Police said the role requires strong multitasking and communication skills.

Applicants are expected to have at least one year of dispatch or related experience, along with basic computer proficiency, including typing at least 45 words per minute. Candidates must also be able to obtain required certifications.

The hiring process includes testing, a background check and medical screening. Applicants are required to submit an application, resume and cover letter through PoliceApp and complete the CPCA Dispatcher Exam.

The department said the position includes a benefits package with a retirement plan, paid time off, paid training and certifications, and health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance.
