Darien Police Sergeant Injured in Head-On DWI Collision: PD
The officer was taken to the hospital with injuries.

A Darien Police shift supervisor was hospitalized after being struck head-on by an alleged intoxicated driver.
Sgt. Jeremiah Johnson was driving on Old Kings Highway South in a marked SUV police cruiser shortly before 4 a.m. on Sept. 20. when a 1999 Saturn collided with him.
Johnson sustained a minor ankle and back injury and was taken to Stamford Hospital.

The operator of the other vehicle, Cesar Lorenzo, 33, of Norwalk said he had five to seven beers before driving, according to police. He suffered no injuries.
Lorenzo failed a field sobriety test and blew a .1516 breathalyzer at 5 a.m. and .1409 at 5:23 a.m., police said. Both are nearly twice over the legal limit.

He was charged with DWI, failure to maintain lane and operating without a license.
