Darien Police Targeting Distracted Drivers
Police will have increased enforcement of distracted driving laws

DARIEN, CT — Police will increase enforcement of distracted driving during the month of April.
Drivers 18-years-old and older need to use hands-free accessories to legally use cell phones while operating a vehicle. Holding a phone with it on speaker is still a violation.
Drivers who are 16 or 17-years-old are restricted form using any type of phone or mobile drive while driving, even with hands-free accessories, said Lt. Jeremiah Marron Jr., police spokesman.
