Darien Police Welcome Newest Officer

Darien Police welcomed its newest Officer Luis Moura.

Moura (left in photo) comes from Bridgeport Police Department where he has been an officer for three years. His Feidl Training Officer Michael Dos Santos (right) is a former Bridgeport officer as well and has been with Darien for four years.

Moura will undergo a modified field training program for three weeks.

A native of Bridgeport, Moura holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Southern Connecticut State University. He is a member of the Vasca Da Gama Portuguese/American Club and has strong interests in soccer, hockey, and running.

As a police officer in Bridgeport, Moura was a recipient of the Bridgeport Police Community Service Award and also received the Merit Award for a recent arrest. Once successfully completing his field training, Ofc. Moura will be assigned to a uniformed patrol squad.
