Darien Reconsidering Blight Ordinance

The aim would be to have modest fines to encourage remediation.

The Darien Representative Town Meeting will look again at making a blight ordinance.

First Selectman Jayme Seneson said that she wanted the ordinance to include fines in order to leverage remediation of decrepit properties, according to Darien News Online.

Planning and Zoning Department Director Jeremy Ginsberg said often the town only sees properties fixed up after they change hands through a foreclosure or sale.
