Darien Resident Sees Her Stolen Car In Town, Calls Cops
The Aug. 22 incident gets weirder after that.

DARIEN, CT — Darien police are investigating a stolen car case where the victim spotted the vehicle being driven in town, and that driver claiming they had bought it off of craigslist.com.
A Darien woman saw her stolen 2005 Audi A5 being driven by a stranger in town on Aug. 22 and quickly contacted police who apprehended the driver and another occupant on Allen O'Neill Drive in Darien.
"The victim informed dispatchers that she saw her stolen vehicle with two occupants," wrote Darien police in a statement. "Officers responded and detained the two occupants of the vehicle. Through investigation, it was determined that the driver of the vehicle had purchased the vehicle for cash on August 18th from a male in Stamford through an ad on craigslist. Evidence of the transaction was provided."

The two occupants were transported to Darien Police Headquarters, where detective interviewed them further, but they were not charged.
The investigation is continuing.
