Darien Resident Shares Heroin Recovery Story

Darien resident Nick deSpoelberch shared his story about heroin addiction and recovery as part of a panel discussion on the drug in town.

deSpoelberch said he was a dean of students at a private New York City school. Now he is a mental heath counselor in Bridgeport, according to the Darienite.

He talked about a variety of drug addictions he had as a teen and through adult life. One day he overdosed on heroin and woke-up to a police officer banging on his car window.
