Darien RTM Approves Blight Ordinance
The town will have more power to deal with properties that are blighted.
DARIEN, CT—A newly-passed blight ordinance will give town officials more power to deal with decrepit properties.
The vote passed 57 to 12, according to the Darien Times.
About 20 to 25 properties in town could fall under the ordinance and between 15 and 20 are longstanding problems.
A blight resource officer would give homeowners warning and time to fix issues and after that a review board could issue a violation.
