DARIEN, CT — The Darien Representative Town Meeting is scheduled to consider a $27,000 special appropriation tied to future planning and infrastructure work on Great Island when it convenes next week, according to the meeting agenda.

The regular Representative Town Meeting is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Auditorium. In the event of a Town Hall closure due to the impending snowstorm, the meeting will be held virtually.

The Great Island appropriation request, listed as a possible action item, seeks funding to update the property and topographic survey of Great Island.

Town officials say the updated survey would provide field-verified data needed to support engineering and design work associated with the island’s early access and master planning efforts. The survey would cover portions of the western section of the island, including roadways, landscape features, buildings and underground utilities.

Also on the agenda is a proposed easement for Eversource on town-owned property abutting 1 and 3 Parklands Drive, another item involving town land use that the RTM is scheduled to consider.

Other business includes the approval of minutes from the Dec. 8, 2025, RTM meeting and the appointment of RTM members to the Board of Ethics to fill three expiring terms and one resignation.
