Darien RTM Finalizes 2018-19 Budget With Tax Decrease
This year's mill rate of 16.16 mills is set to drop next year.

DARIEN, CT — The Representative Town Meeting on Monday night approved Darien's 2018-19 town budget with a drop in the mill rate which means a tax decrease for property owners.
The $145,171,660 budget carries a mill rate of 16.08 mills for next year, down from 16.16 mills this year. As such, residents' property taxes would decrease to $16.08 for every $1,000 in assessed property value.
The RTM has approved a budget of $145 million for FY19, with a mill rate of 16.08, down from 16.16 in FY18.

A total of $98,122,266 will go to pay for the Darien Public School District, while the rest of the town will spend $47,049,394 for operations.
