Darien RTM Passes Town Budget

In a near unanimous decision the Darien representative Town Meeting approved a $137.47 million budget for the next fiscal year earlier this week.

The new budget will come with a mill rate of 15.35, according to the Darien Times.

The selectman’s budget was approved by a vote of 71-1-1 and the educational budget was 72-1.

The selectman’s budget comes with a mere .6 percent increase in spending, the lowest in more than a decade.
