Darien School Principal Departs Just Before Start Of School Year
Whether he resigned or was dismissed is not entirely clear.
DARIEN, CT — Dean Ketchum, principal of Darien's Royle Elementary School since July 2016, has resigned from his post just before the start of the school year, though a report by the Darien Times says he was relieved of his duties earlier this month.
The circumstances that led to Ketchum's departure have not been released. Patch reached out to Darien Schools Superintendent Alan Addley on Wednesday for comment but has not received a reply.
Addley announced the resignation in a message to parents this week, though the report says that Ketchum was relieved of administrative duties on Aug. 15. His resignation was effective Aug. 16, according to Addley, but his last day with the district is not until Aug. 31.
