Darien Schools Closed Monday Due To Storm: Superintendent
Sunday night's storm knocked out power to more than 16 percent of the town, according to Eversource.
DARIEN, CT — Public schools in Darien were closed Monday morning, and remote learning also was called off, due power outages and blocked roads following Sunday night's storm, Schools Superintendent Alan Addley announced.
More than 1,300 Eversource customers in Darien were without power as of 9:35 a.m. Monday, or just over 16 percent of the town, according to the company.
Darien police reported more than 30 roads were all or partially blocked by downed wires and trees throughout town.
