• Water Polo: Darien's Middlesex Club, coached by Shannon Carroll, won the Fairfield County Swimming League's division two water polo title on Wednesday.
In the semifinals, Middlesex defeated Stamford's Newfield and Lake Club of Wilton downed New Canaan Field Cub. In the finals, Middlesex edged Lake Club in overtime.

Members of the Middlesex include Aidan Coyle, Connor Sullivan, Carl Hunter, Joey McPartland, Jay Dickson, Andrew Aoyama, Andrew Winsch, Bobby Trifone, Cesar Pena, Robby Waters, Mary Brown, Megan Dunn, Becca Maroney, Lauren Rutledge, and Alex Dehmel.
Brown, Trifone, Waters and, Pena were named to the all-tournament team.

• Swimming: Erik Ryan of the Darien YMCA Piranha swim team will be representing the state at the Eastern Zone Age Group Championship meet in the 11-12 division. The meet continues through Sunday at Penn State University in State College.
Jake Greene, Tyler Gould, Steven Grune, Chris Weihs, Caroline Orem, and Liza Bragg represented the Piranhas at the super sectionals in Pittsburgh, which concluded on Saturday
The Piranhas' quartet of Greene, Grune, Gould and Weihs finished 16th in the 800-meter freestyle relay with a time of 8:11.37. Bragg was 34th in the women's 200-meter breaststroke (2:27.72).
