The Darien girls hockey team rolled to an 8-0 victory over Stamford on Wednesday at the Terry Conners Rink.
Ellie Bennett and Sarah Shaker each had two goals for the Blue Wave while Emily Tropsa, Allegra Molkenthin, Christy Conley and Sammy Nielsen also scored once.

Goalkeepers Shannon Hall and Izzy Scribano combined to make six saves in recording the shutout.
The Blue Wave is back in action on Saturday when they host Springfield Cathedral (Mass.) in a non-league game at 6:30 at the Darien Ice Rink.

1. Darien boys hockey edges St. Joseph
In a game dominated by the goaltenders, the boys hockey team extended its winning streak to eight games with a 3-2 victory over St. Joseph at the Shelton Rinks.
Brendan Hathaway's scored his second goal of the night to snap a 2-2 tie as the Blue Wave improved to 9-3.
Zack Usinger and Ryan Corcoran tallied in the first period to give the Cadets a 2-1 lead while Hank Glick registered Darien's first goal.
The teams combined for 100 shots as Darien's Max Rothston's made 49 saves and St. Joseph's Ron Johnson turned aside 46.
The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for St. Joseph, which dropped to 9-5.
2. FCIAC indoor track championship set for Thursday
The Darien indoor track team, which won FCIAC East boys and girls titles, will be well-represented at Thursday's FCIAC championships in New Haven.
Catherine Lacey is the top seed in the girls long jump and high jump while Nicholas Lombardo is the No. 2 seed in the boys high jump.
