2. Darien girls basketball to face Trinity Catholic

The Darien girls basketball team looks to climb over .500 on Tuesday when the Blue Wave visits Trinity Catholic (5:45 p.m.).

The Blue Wave overcame the absence of Meg Marren, who was still sidelined with a foot injury, to defeat Greenwich 41-29 on Friday.

Junior Kate Bushell picked up the slack against the Cardinals with 22 points and six rebounds.

The Blue Wave hopes to have Marren back in the lineup against the Bears as they look to stay in the FCIAC playoff race.

Trinity Catholic (6-5) has dropped two in a row, including a 56-46 loss on Friday to Danbury, now the only remaining unbeaten team in the FCIAC.

The Darien boys team has a difficult assignment as the Blue Wave hosts Trinity Catholic on Tuesday (7 p.m.).

The Blue Wave were held on 30 points in their previous game, suffering a 57-25 loss to Greenwich to fall to 2-6.

Trinity Catholic rebounded from a 65-61 loss to St. Joseph to hand Danbury its first loss of the season with a 65-55 victory over the Hatters on Friday. The Crusaders improved to 6-3.
