1. Darien girls defeat Staples
The girls basketball team is now 2-0 since Mag Marren returned to the lineup.

Marren scored 17 points Thursday as the Blue Wave rallied in the fourth quarter for a 46-43 victory over Staples.
The Blue Wave trailed 31-28 entering the fourth period but outscored the Wreckers 18-12 over the final eight minutes to pick up an important victory.

Kate Bushell added 15 points for Darien, which improved to 7-5.
Erica Stein had 15 points and Jess Coelho added 12 for Staples, which dropped to 8-4. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for the Wreckers.
2. Darien boys fall to Staples
Peter Rankowitz scored 14 points as the Staples boys basketball team posted a 58-45 victory over Darien.
Michael Argosh added 13 points and James Frusciante chipped in with nine for the Wreckers, who reached the midpoint of the season with a 6-4 record.
It was the fourth straight win for the Wreckers, who have overcome a 2-4 start.
Liam Naughton, Matt Lee and Tom Maclean each had 10 points for the Blue Wave, who dropped to 2-9.
3. Woodring starring at Choate
Darien's Casey Woodring, a senior at Choate Academy, is averaging 16 points per game for the school's boys basketball team.
The 6-foot-2 guard, considered one of the top shooters, has helped Choate get off to a 9-1 start in defense of its New England Class A Prep School championship.
