The FCIAC cheerleading and partner stunt championships will take place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Fairfield Ludlowe High School.
There will be 17 schools from the conference competing. The ticket prices are $5 for students and $7 for adults.
The event includes routines performed by full cheerleading teams from the FCIAC along with teams in the Partner Stunt competition.
The event moves to Fairfield Ludlowe after taking place at the Zeoli Field House in Wilton for the past four years.
Darien hoop teams back in action
The girls basketball team continues its pursuit of an FCIAC playoff spot on Tuesday, but has a tough assignment on tap when it hosts undefeated Danbury (5:30 p.m.)
The Blue Wave (7-5, 6-4) are currently tied with Norwalk and Westhill for seventh place in the tightly bunched standings. Darien is only a game behind fifth-place Staples (7-3) and Stamford (7-3), but just one-half game ahead of Trinity Catholic and New Canaan, who are tied for 10th at 6-5.
Darien is coming off a 46-43 win over Staples on Thursday and also has victories over Trinity Catholic and New Canaan for tiebreaker purposes.
The Blue Wave are 3-0 since Meg Marren, who missed two games with a foot injury, returned to the lineup.
However, Darien figures to face a major challenge from Danbury, which appears to be the team to beat in the FCIAC. The Hatters (12-0, 10-0) are the league's lone unbeaten team and are coming off Friday's 68-51 victory over Ridgefield.
Danbury has a one-game lead over Trumbull (9-1) in the battle for the top seed in next month's FCIAC playoffs.
On the boys, Darien (2-9) visits Danbury (7-3), who has dropped three in a row since starting the season 7-0. On Friday, the Hatters were pounded by Ridgefield, 69-44, so they could be looking to take out some frustrations on the Blue Wave.
Darien is coming off a 58-45 loss to Staples on Thursday.
