Hoops: Westhill Beats Darien Boys, Girls

The Westhill Vikings ruled the Blue Wave as both the boys and girls teams fell to the Stamford high school.
1. Boys' game

Darien's Liam Naughton scored 15 points and Matt Lee added 14, but it wasn't enough as Westhill posted a 72-49 victory Tuesday over the boys basketball team.
Tony Dobbinson added 14 points and 10 assists for the Vikings (3-2), who jumped out to leads of 25-9 after the first quarter and 44-22 at halftime.

Sam Dorissaint registered a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds against Darien, which dropped to 1-5.
Westhill had four players in double figures as Aaron Young added 12 and Romario Narine chipped in with 11.
Darien played better in the second half as it was only outscored by a 28-27 margin.
2. Girls' game
Meg Marren had a huge game for Darien with 21 points, 13 rebounds and four steals, but it wasn't enough to prevent Westhill's Vikings from conquering the Blue Wave, 40-37.
Westhill's Megan D'Alessandro scored 17 points and Steph Roones added 12.
D'Alessandro also had eight rebounds and four steals for the Vikings, who improved to 3-4.
Kate Bushell added six points for the Blue Wave, who slipped to 3-4 after falling to New Canaan 61-58 on Thursday in the championship game of the La Vista tournament.
