After a 12-day layoff, theboys hockey team returns to action on Thursday when the Blue Wave takes on Notre Dame of Fairfield at the Milford Ice Pavilion. Faceoff is at 6 p.m.
This is the first of two straight games between the teams as the Blue Wave will host the Lancers on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at the Darien Ice Arena.

Darien has gotten off to a slow start under first-year coach Chris Helwig, dropping to 1-3 following a 4-1 loss to Notre Dame of West Haven on Dec. 23.
However, Darien has played three of the top teams in the state, also losing to Hamden (2-0) and West Haven (6-5 in overtime). Its lone win came against New Canaan (6-1).

Notre Dame of Fairfield improved to 2-3 with a 4-1 victory over Watertown-Pomperaug last Thursday.
