Ellie Bennet had a goal and two assists girls hockey team defeated Wilton 3-0 on Thursday at the Darien Ice Arena.

The three assists gives Bennett a team-high 18 through five games.

Playing their first game since Dec. 23, the Blue Wave improved to 5-0 heading into Saturday's contest against Simsbury.

Shannon Hall recorded the shutout with 13 saves while Sara Shaker added a goal and an assist for Darien.

Max Rothston made 23 saves Thursday as the Darien boys hockey team blanked Notre Dame of Fairield 3-0 at the Milford Ice Pavilion.

Brendan Hathaway, Tommy Watters, Jack Knowlton scored for the Blue Wave, who improved to 2-3.

Hathaway opened the scoring midway through the first period before Watters and Knowlton found the back in the net in the middle period to extend Darien's lead.

Scott Kline made 25 saves for Notre Dame of Fairfield, which dropped to 2-4. The Lancers have surrendered 21 goals in their first six games.

The teams will complete their home-and-home series on Saturday at the Darien Ice Rink (8:30 p.m.).
