Girls golf: Darien won its first FCIAC girls golf championship Tuesday at the Rolling Hills Country Club in Wilton.

The Blue Wave posted a winning score of 380, finishing ahead of Greenwich (382), Staples (396) and Fairfield Warde (428) in the four-team event. Greenwich's Brooke Nethercott earned medalist honors with a 77.

Kendall Kyritz was Darien's top finisher at 89, followed by Izzy Lee (91), Nicole Granath (94) and senior Corinne Teschner (106).

The teams now look forward to next week's state tournament.

Darien Youth Baseball & Softball:

  • JR Schoen AAA League > American: Ryan Kellog had three hits and Max Berry, Frank Drugge and John Michael Fallon drove in runs, leading My Tutor & Me to 5-1 win over Conte Garbage & Recycling on Monday. Drugge, Fallon and Berry also combined to strike out six on the mound. Conte was led by the pitching of Alex Oh and Jack Finke while Pierce Gilhooly had two hits and Alexander Type reached base in each of his at-bats. 
  • JR Schoen AAA League > National: The Osherows rallied to defeat Stop & Shop squad 6-5 on Friday. Teddy Chieffi, Bennett McDermott, George Chieffi, and Will Kirby had key hits for Osherows while starting pitcher Will Henry Harmon help keep the Stop & Shoppers in check.   
  • LL Baseball > Major League > Majors Playoffs > Majors Bracket B: Rotary Club 1, Piedmont Association 0 (Tuesday)
