Rings End added four runs in the third.  Brian Minicus double and scored on a single by Brereton.  After Neal forced Brereton out at second, Neal scored on a double by Pucci, who scored on a single by Arcamone.  Culliton's RBI single made it 7-0.

In the bottom of the third, Lawrence Funeral Home pulled within 7-2 on consecutive two-out singles by Harrison Gill, Andrew Winsch and Mitchell Pryor and a double by Mark Maley.

Rings End tacked on three more runs in the fourth on singles by Neal, Pucci and Arcamone.

Andrew Crane had a two-run single in the bottom of the fourth and Pryor's solo homer pulled Lawrence within 10-5 in the fifth.

Rings End put it away in the sixth on Brereton's  walk and consecutive doubles by Neal, Pucci and Arcamone.

Boys lacrosse:  While the Darien boys lacrosse team came up short in a bid for a seventh consecutive state championship, it was the most dominant team in the state during the regular season.

That is reflected in the postseason honors. While the Blue Wave had 11 players named All-State, four also earned All-American honors:  Case Matheis, attack; Graham Maybell, midfielder;  Eric Parnon, defense; and J.P. Walsh, defender.

Volleyball: Darien, which won the FCIAC and Class M state title, had four players earn all-FCIAC honors.

Calder Billhardt and Austin Cockerill were named to the first team while Matt Lee was tabbed for the second team and Sam Bryant received honorable mention status.

Golf: The Country Club of Darien will host the fifth annual NFL Alumni Association, Connecticut Chapter, golf tournament on Monday.

It figures to be an emotional day because the event comes less than three weeks following the death of New York Giants legend and Stamford native Andy Robustelli.

The list of those were participated last year included Bobby Mitchell, Dave Herman, Randy Minniear, Mark Gastineau, Bob Lurtsema, Ernie Koy, Bobby Duhon, Don Herrmann, Bob Simms, Skip Lane, Randy Rasmussen, Craig Bingham, Chuck Mercein, Nick Giaquinto, Scott Eaton, Greg Larson, Erich Barnes, Bob Hyland, Karl Swanke, Doug Van Horn and Dick Swatland.
