The Darien boys lacrosse and boys volleyball teams have earned top seeds in their respective state tournaments.
The lacrosse squad, which is seeking its seventh consecutive state championship, hosts No. 16 seed Notre Dame of West Haven (7-8) in the first round of the Class M tournament on Wednesday.
If Darien (17-2) advances, it would host either No. 8 Masuk (10-6) or No. 9 Fairfied Ludlowe (9-7) in the quarterfinals on Saturday. The Blue Wave routed Fairfield Ludlowe 17-1 in the quarterfinals of the FCIAC playoffs last week.

If things break right, Darien could see Wilton in the state championship as the longtime rivals are on opposite sides of the bracket with the Warriors seeded fifth.
Darien defeated Wilton 9-6 in the FCIAC semifinals before downing Ridgefield 10-7 on Friday to win its first FCIAC championship since 2008.

The Darien volleyball team, which defeated Staples in five games on Friday to win it first FCIAC title, has a first-round bye in the Class M tourney . In the quarterfinals on Friday, the Blue Wave (19-1) will host the winner of the first-round match between No. 8 Enfield (13-5) and No. 9 Farmington (11-7).
The Darien girls lacrosse team, which lost to Wilton 15-12 in the FCIAC finals, is seeded 13th and visits No. 4 Barlow (15-4) in the first round on Thursday. Darien enters the tournament with an 11-8 mark, but the record is deceptive since it played a number of out-of-state powers early in the season.
Still, Barlow could be a test for the Blue Wave as the Falcons nearly unseated Newtown in the South-West Conference finals. Newtown captured its seventh consecutive SWC crown on Friday with a 17-16 win over Barlow but not before the Falcons nearly erased a six-goal deficit in the final 10 minutes.
If Darien advances, it would face either No. 5 Guilford (13-3) or No. 12 Pomperaug (9-6-1) in the quarterfinals on June 6. A possible rematch with Wilton awaits in the semifinals.
The Darien softball team, which also won the school's first FCIAC title with a 4-3 win over Fairfield Ludlowe, is seeded second in the Class L tournament and received a first-round bye.
The Blue Wave (20-3) will play either No. 15 New Fairfield (13-7) or No. 18 Bethel (12-8) in the second round on Wednesday.
The season ended on Saturday for the Darien baseball team, which suffered a 1-0 loss in eight innings to Platt in a Class L qualifying game.
The Blue Wave, who won their final four regular-season contests, finished the year at 10-11, a two-game improvement over last season's 8-13 mark.
