Darien Girls Swim Team 4th in State Finals

The Blue Wave finished behind Greenwich (480), which captured its seventh consecutive Open title, New Canaan (431.5) and Wilton (371).

Darien had four top-finishes. Caroline Orem (58.38) and Olivia Leunis (1:06.26) were third in the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard breaststroke, respectively.

In addition, Orem finished fifth in the 200-yard IM (2:08.18) and Darien placed fifth in the 400-yard freestyle relay (Caroline Kearney, Julia Stobbie, Caroline Orem,Amanda Bieler), 3:37.54

Junior football: The Darien White seventh grade football team completed an undeated season by defeating Fairfield Blue 30-20 Saturday in the championship game of the Fairfield County Football League playoffs.

The squad finished 11-0, including a 3-0 mark in the postseason.
