UPDATES:
• Boys cross country: The Darien boys cross team continued rolling over opponents in its latest quad meet, defeating Stamford, Ridgefield and host St. Joseph on Tuesday.
The Blue Wave improved to 8-0, defeating Stamford 15-50, Ridgefield 15-47 and St. Joseph 15-50.

The Blue Wave had the first five runners to cross the finish line. Co-captain and senior Michael Johnston and freshman Alex Ostberg finished together in 17:17. Co-captains and seniors Charlie Baird and Michael Coe finished third and fourth in 17:34 and 17:40, respectively. Sophomores Marshall Huffman and Peter Kreuch finished fifth and seventh, in 18:07 and 18:12. Co-captain Eli Converse finished eighth in 18:13.
“It was humid, so times weren’t great. That’s OK. We just wanted to go in, take care of business and get out,” Darien coach Tyson Kaczmarek said.

“We had a very strong showing today,” Coe added. “I’m very proud of everyone’s performances. We’re reaching the middle of the season, which can be tough, but as always, we remain optimistic and hard working."
Darien's next week is Tuesday at Waveny Park in New Canaan against New Canaan, Fairfield Ludlowe, Harding, Westhill, and McMahon.
• Boys soccer: Darien won a game Tuesday without actually having to step on the field. The Blue Wave's season-opening 7-1 loss to Westhill was reversed by the CIAC as the Vikings were forced to forfeit their first three victories for using an eligible player. Darien's record goes from 4-1-1 to 5-0-1.
• Football: The Darien football team is gaining ground. After rallying from a 16-point halftime deficit to defeat Fairfield Warde 29-19, the Blue Wave (2-0) climbed to 16th in the weekly Connecticut Sportswriters' Alliance top 10 poll. Darien plays at St. Joseph (0-2) on Saturday.
Two FCIAC teams — No. 3 New Canaan (2-0) and Staples (2-0) — are ranked in the top 10. Six other FCIAC teams received votes, including Darien, No. 12 Trumbull (2-0), No. 15 Greenwich (2-0), No. 28 Norwalk (2-0), No. 34 St. Joseph, and No. 25 Wilton (2-0) .
