The Darien Police Department has had several unplanned service and equipment issues.

GREENWICH, CT — The Darien Board of Selectmen this week approved a transfer of $25,480 so the police department can cover the costs of several unplanned service and equipment issues.
Town Administrator Kate Buch explained to the selectmen that the Darien Police Department has had to replace its HVAC system fan motor and compressor at $14,200. Additionally, the DPD tested its fire suppression system due to corrosion at $5,579, and the generator at headquarters needed emergency repairs in the amount of $4,700.
"They are transferring the funds from within their budget from other accounts that had positive balances," Buch said.
