Darien Selectmen Decline Police Body Camera Request
The bulk of the cost would come from archiving video footage.

The Board of Selectmen declined a request from the Police Department to provide funding for police body cameras.
Chief Duane Lovello said there could be significant costs in sustaining the program due to video archiving, according to the Darien Times.
The state attorney recommended video be kept for four years, Lovello said. Cameras would cost about $400 per officer and archiving footage would cost $68,500 annually.
