Darien Selectmen Eye Hecker Avenue Open Space Buy
The acquisition would connect town hall, police headquarters and the library.

The Darien Board of Selectmen will vote later this month on purchasing a parcel of open space on Hecker Avenue that would connect town hall, the police headquarters and the library.
The plan would be to use $137,500 through a Darien Land Trust grant and a $137,500 open space and watershed protection grant from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection for the 1.245-acre plot, according to Darien News.
The selectman showed support for the project at a recent meeting. the town’s Board of Finance and Representative Town Meeting would also have to support the acquisition.
