Darien Sewer Fees Set To Rise: Report

The increase will help pay for improvements.

DARIEN, CT — Darien officials last week passed a motion to increase the town's sewer fees, the first such increase in five years, reports the Darien News.

The 3 percent rate increase will mean residents will now pay $5.54 per 100 cubic feet consumed, up fromfrom $5.32 per 100 cubic feet consumed, according to the publication.

Officials said the increase will be used to help offset Darien's contribution to improvements to the facility run by the Stamford Water Pollution Control Authority, which treats Darien's sewer water.
