Darien Shake Shack Proposal May Still Have Life

Talks for a location in Darien have resumed.

DARIEN, CT- Hopes and dreams for a Shake Shack in Darien may not be dead after all.

Developer David Genovese said that talks with Shake Shack are resuming and that he is hopeful that there will be another application made in the next few days, according to the Darienite.

Shake Shack officials walked away from a potential deal after the Zoning Board of Appeals didn't grant a variance for Shake Shack's large signs.

Genovese said that the board felt they didn't prove a hardship and that the original application may have been overconfident. The original application relied heavily on the fact that other nearby businesses have even larger signs.
