Darien Social Dispute Investigated

A woman claimed a drink was thrown in her face and that she was hit during a dispute.

DARIEN, CT- Police are investigating a reported dispute that took place at the Darien Social on April 30.

A 54-year-old woman called police around 11:30 p.m. to report that she was assaulted.

She told officers she was standing inside the doors of the restaurant and was listening to the band when another female pushed her and said she was in her view on the band.

The complainant said the husband of the woman threw a drink in her face and then struck her in the face, according to police. She didn't sustain a visible injury.

Employees were interviewed by police and said that they believe the complainant first threw a drink at the other female and the female's husband retaliated by throwing his drink in her face.

The investigation remains active. Police are working to identify the female and her husband.
