Messing with traffic signals can be a felony-level charge, police warn.

DARIEN, CT—Police are warning residents that there can be serious consequences for those who tamper with a traffic sign after a permanent sign was knocked down and then a temporary sign was taken.
The knocked down stop sign was reported Nov. 11 and an officer put in a temporary sign until Public Works could fix the permanent sign. The next day the temporary sign was missing.
Another temporary sign was put out. The value of the sign is about $75.
