Darien Store Hit by Credit Card Fraud

A woman bought two high-end purses with a fraudulent card, police said.

DARIEN, CT — Police are investigating after a local store was hit by credit card fraud. The incident was reported to police April 10, but occurred on March 10.

A woman went to Double Exposure and tried to use three cards to purchase two purses worth $848 each, police said. The cards were declined and the woman told a cashier she was going to step out and call her bank. She then came back into the store and used a fourth card to purchase the items.

Double Exposure was contacted by the true account holder, a resident of South Carolina who said the charges were fraudulent. The charges were reversed.
