Darien Suspect In Anguilla Killing To Hold Press Conference

Darien resident Scott Hapgood is facing charges in connection with the death of Kenny Mitchel, a worker at an Anguilla hotel.

DARIEN, CT — Darien resident Scott Hapgood, who is facing manslaughter charges in the death of an Anguilla hotel worker, is holding a press conference Tuesday afternoon "to discuss the status of his case and other recent developments," his public relations firm announced.

Hapgood was on vacation in the Caribbean country with his family in April when he says he was attacked in his hotel room by Kenny Mitchel, a Dominican national who Hapgood killed during the altercation. Hapgood has claimed the killing , which took place in front of his young daughters, was in self-defense.

Tuesday's press conference in Manhattan also will be attended by Hapgood's New York-based attorney, Juliya Arbisman, who specializes in "international arbitration and strategic issue litigation, including before international courts," according to her LinkedIn profile.
