Darien Sweeps High School Lacrosse Titles for Third Straight Year

The girls won their fourth straight Class L title, while the boys made it two straight Class L championships and third state title in a row.

For the third straight year, Darien High School is celebrating dual championships by its lacrosse teams, with both the boys and girls winning in fairly easy fashion Saturday.

The nationally-ranked and undefeated boys jumped on Simsbury right out of the gate, scoring in the first minute en route to a 12-2 halftime lead and an 18-3 victory in the Class L finals at Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk.

It is the second straight year the Blue Wave have captured the Class L title; in 2014, they won the Class M crown.

Meanwhile, 22 miles up I-95 at Jonathan Law High School in Milford, the girls won their fourth straight Class L title with a 12-5 decision over Fairfield Warde. The championship is the girls' eighth since 2007.
