Darien Swimmers Beat Trumbull In Home Finale

The 104-74 win on Wednesday improves the Blue Wave's record to 7-2

The Darien boys swimming and diving team won its final home meet of the season on Wednesday, defeating Trumbull 104-74 on Senior Day to improve to 7-2.

Darien had numerous first-place finishes, starting with the medley relay team of Chris Janson, Christian Weeks, Nicolai Ostberg and Jack Bair, who also won the 50 freestyle.

Tyler Gould took the 200 IM, Jackson McGoldrick captured the diving and Janson, Weeks, Will Smelser and Sam Gillespie gave Darien a win in the 400 freestyle relay.

Other winners for the Blue Wave included: Dylan Gilhooly, 100 butterfly; Ostberg, 100 freestylle; Smelser, 500 freestyle; Gillespie, Ostberg, Bair and Gould, 200 freestyle relay; Weeks, 100 backstroke; and Gould, 100 breaststroke.

Darien concludes its regular season at Danbury next Wednesday at 4 p.m..
