Darien Budget Approved by Board of Finance
The budget will move to the Representative Town Meeting for final approval.
DARIEN, CT — The Board of Finance voted to approve a budget that would increase the mill rate by 2.47 percent.
The board voted 5 to 1 for the $145 million budget that would increase the mill rate to 16.16, according to the Darien Times.
The Representative Town Meeting is scheduled to vote on the budget May 8. It has authority to remove line items from the town operating budget, but must either accept or reject the Board of Education budget in its entirety.
