UPDATED Darien Traffic Alert: Route 1 Reopens After Truck Crash

Darien Police reported via Twitter at 7:56 a.m. that Route 1 has been reopened to traffic.

Darien Police report a tractor trailer crashed into a Route 1 bridge at Tokeneke Road Friday morning.

Police advised on Twitter, “Rt 1 remains closed in #Darien due to Truck vs. Bridge.”

It’s the second time in eight days that a truck struck the bridge overpass, shutting down the road. According to police, there was a similar incident July 9.
