Darien Woman Victim of Credit Card Theft

The woman realized her cards were stolen and later found they were used at a store.

DARIEN, CT—A Darien woman became the target of credit card fraud shortly after visiting Panera with her son.

The woman noticed her four credit and debit cards were missing around 2:20 p.m. Sept. 29.

She stopped at Panera around 1:30 p.m. and paid for their lunch with her American Express card. She left her purse hanging from a booth, police said.

Her son recently had oral surgery and was groggy.

She went to Citi bank when she noticed the cards were missing and was informed that her card was used at the Stamford Target store to make a $203 purchase. A $1,218 purchase was made on a Visa card and a purchased was declined on her American Express card.
