Darien Women's Lacrosse Player Shines For Colby College
She was named NESCAC Women's Lacrosse Player Of The Week.
DARIEN, CT — Isabella "Izzy" Scribano, a Darien resident and goaltender for the Colby College Women's Lacrosse team, was named New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week on Monday.
Scribano, a senior and tri-captain, received the honor in part for a stellar 19-save victory over Hamilton College.
For the week, Scribano earned two wins and had a 64.5 save percentage. In the win over Hamilton, she stopped 19 shots and had three free-position shot saves in the final 6:07 of the game in the 14-10 victory.

Her second victor for the week came against University of New England.

In the latest NESCAC statistics, Scribano leads the conference in save percentage at 71.2 after making 37 saves in a 2-0 league start. While she has made 37 saves, the opponent goalies have combined for 13 saves in the two conference games. The opponent has scored on just 29 percent (7-for-24) of free-position attempts in the two league wins.
After Hamilton took a 9-8 lead with 16:13 to play, Scribano made six saves the rest of the way as the Mules went on a 6-1 scoring run (lone goal allowed was free-position) for the win. Scribano also played 20 minutes and had the win in a victory over the University of New England on Tuesday.
Besides leading the conference in save percentage, Scribano leads the league in overall save percentage (70.4) and total saves (38).
The eighth-ranked Mules (3-0 overall) will play at 10th-ranked Tufts University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
