Darien YMCA Gymnasts Kick Off 2014-15 Season at Trumbull Harvest Invitational

Gymnasts from the Darien YMCA House Team successfully launched their 2014-2015 season with winning results at the Trumbull YMCA Harvest Invitational meet.

Leading the team were Sarah Petti, who swept the Level 6 Senior age group titles, placing first on all four events and All-Around(AA), and Kajsa Lundeen, who won the AA and vault titles in the Level 7 Senior age group, as well as placing 2nd on floor and 3rd on beam.

In the Level 3 competition, Ali Kolman placed 2nd on vault with a 9.0, and 3rd on bars, floor and AA in the 6-8 age group. Anna Primmer earned 4th on floor, 5th on bars and vault and 2nd on beam and AA with a sensational 35.90 in the 9 years group, while Treasa Brown earned 3rd on floor, 6th on beam and 2nd on bars and AA in the 10 years group.

Devan Grills led the Level 4 squad, placing 4th on vault and beam and 3rd on bars, floor (9.2) and AA in the 8-9 age group. Katelyn Secor placed 9th on floor in the 10-11 group.

In the 12+ age group, Sofia Fea was 4th on vault and 5th on bars, floor and AA, while Tetyana Banaryk was 5th on vault and 2nd on beam, scoring a 9.4.

Competing at Level 5, Lindsay Wallach and Kerry McDermott tied for 3rd on vault, each scoring 9.1. Wallach also placed 3rd on bars and 4th on floor and AA. McDermott followed at 4th on bars and 6th AA.

Also representing Darien with Petti at Level 6, Allie Trotman won the vault title with a 9.3 and placed 2nd on bars in the 12-14 age group.

All of the gymnasts earned qualifying AA scores for the Connecticut YMCA Southern Leagues and State Championship meets in the spring
