The senior kicker booted two long field goals in the 4-1 Tigers' 41-7 win over Harding, including a school-record 50-yarder. He also connected on a 41-yarder and converted all five extra points for an 11-point night. O'Dea has made four field goals in the last two games.
The senior running back rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries as the 5-0 Rams, ranked second in the state, routed Seymour, 49-0. Goodwin is New Canaan's leading rusher with 414 yards.
The junior quarterback tossed a 16-yard touchdown pass to Alex Ward on 4th-and-2 with just 22.7 seconds remaining, lifting the Warriors (2-3) to a dramatic 24-21 victory over Fairfield Warde. Carroll also rushed for a touchdown.
The following nominations by FCIAC Football Blog readers are also up for the award:
Brian Gallo, Trumbull: Starting at quarterback in place of the injured Ian Milne, Gallo ended up completing 8 of 14 passes for 207 yards, with 124 of those yards and an early 80-yard touchdown pass going to Pauciello. Gallo also had 41 yards and two scores on the ground. Trumbull defeated Greenwich to remain undefeated.
Derek Edwards, Norwalk: Unable to put away feisty Fairfield Ludlowe, and with the Bears clinging to an 18-13 lead five minutes into the fourth quarter, Edwards returned a punt 54 yards for a touchdown to help lift the Norwalk to a 24-13 victory on a windy Saturday afternoon at Taft Field.
