Darien's Ox Ridge Hunt Club Proposes Expanded Offerings: Report

The 104-year-old hunt club is seeking to expand its membership, officials told the Darien P&Z.

DARIEN, CT — Looking to expand its membership, Darien's 104-year-old Ox Ridge Hunt Club hopes to add a fitness club, squash courts and other amenities under a new plan it presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission this week, reports Darienite.com.

The plan seeks to revitalize and reinvent the horse club for its next century, and the plan is to tear down and build new structures at the property, located on Middlesex Road.

Currently, the site is just under 23 acres, following the sale of 16 acres to the town, and membership is down to about 50 families, according to a club official. Ox Ridge also hopes to expand its membership limit to 250 families, up from the current 200-family allotment.
