Details On The 2023 Darien Youth Survey Results Presentation
Darien students in grades 6-12 were surveyed about their mental health and substance use patterns. The results will be presented this week.
DARIEN, CT — The results of Thriving Youth Darien's 2023 student survey on mental health and substance use trends will be presented this week.
Georgette Harrison, director of clinical and community partnerships at Child Guidance Center of Southern CT, will present the survey findings beginning at 7 p.m. on Oct. 12 at Darien Library. The presentation is open to the public.
Following the presentation, there will be a panelist discussion including Rebecca Campbell, director of therapy services at Sasco River Center; Dr. Alycia Dadd, director of mental health for Darien Public Schools; and John Hamilton, president and chief executive officer of Liberation Programs.

Last March, Thriving Youth Darien partnered with Darien Public Schools to anonymously survey Darien students in grades 6-12 about their mental health and substance use patterns.
The data collected is used to guide community and school efforts to support Darien youth and to create educational programming for parents that directly addresses areas of greatest concern, based on youth survey responses.
