Details On Darien's Hanukkah Celebration

Darien will hold its annual community-wide Hanukkah celebration on Dec. 10.

DARIEN, CT — The town of Darien will hold its annual community-wide Hanukkah celebration on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m., in Grove Street Plaza.

The event will feature giveaways and treats from the Jewish Federation of Stamford, New Canaan and Darien; children's books from the PJ Library; crafts from The Coalition of Families for Inclusion; and hot potato pancakes from Marcia Selden Catering.

Additionally, the sixth-grade chorus from Middlesex Middle School will perform.

Attendees are being asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy for donation to the Open Doors Shelter of Norwalk.

A few days before on Dec. 7 at 6 p.m., a 6-foot electric menorah will installed and it will be lit by different Jewish Darien families over the course of Hanukkah. The nightly lighting will be held rain or shine.
